Is love destined or is it a choice?
Attraction is destined, a trick of fate. Love is when there is more to sustain than pure attraction. In a sense, it is our hopeful choice. Perhaps, what we do is create the dream out of the attraction and attempt to make it reality through choice. The first is smoke and mirrors; the latter is a hearth fire.
In these times when Teabaggers (someone called them the Teahad...priceless) show us everyday we aren't out of the Right Wing woods yet -- when apathy seems to be the by-word of the weary simply trying to keep their heads above water, and when it seems that so many women have lost their effing minds to even consider unqualified, raucous, ignorant female candidates just because they are female, it behooves us to remember that once upon a time, not all that long ago, women couldn't even cast a ballot. Little vixy reminded me today. Disgusted or not, apathetic or not, scornful or not, VOTE!

The final state to get a clue has finally thrown up their hands and given up on this ban. No more court cases...it's final:

Betsy Tinney hosted the release party at her beautiful home for S.J.Tucker's newest album, titled "Mischief" SJ Tucker is an amazing singer-songwriter and musician. This album is both mysterious and revealing, as some of the songs speak volumes about her personal experiences with life and love without revealing details of how she got here. And you should see her Cheshire Cat grin! Highly recommended!
Want to find out more? Go to You Tube. Look up Skinny White Chick, SJ Tucker, Sooj Tucker, Tricky Pixie (of which she is one) and Kitten Sundae with Nuts (of which she is one.) Powerful songs, even more powerful voice, and ohmygod can she pick a guitar or caress a Djembe. Sheesh! I highly recommend all her albums, but this one really shows off her talents.
The photos here show her with amazing backup musicians Betsy Tinney (stealthcello only begins to describe how she creeps into your diaphram) and Sunnie Reed (the violin that makes you cry, laugh and bleed all at the same time.) Also present are Vixy and Tony (check them out on You Tube too.) There were surprises in store -- Seanen McGuire (if you like HORROR fiction, check out Mira Grant - that's her!) who also sings like an angel and writes amazing songs, and the following night at Can't Stop the Serenity, Marian Call, the Alaskan waif who will knock you down with her voice and wow you with her lyrics.
I love living in the Pac NW for many reasons. That I live in proximity to talents like this, and get to share concerts with all their other fans here (and get called by my first name -- they know me!) is one of the many reasons this place is now my home.

Sooj can practically make that djembe talk

It was a glorious night -- I wish you could have been there!
HUGS and LOVE!

British Petroleum announced today that they will no longer hire Cajuns to help in the cleanup. Thibodeaux, Boudreaux and Fontenot were told to clean as many brown pelicans as they could....
So far, Thibodeaux has cleaned and gutted over 56 birds while Boudreaux made the roux and Fontenot cooked the rice.
Trust Cajuns to take advantage of a disaster the best way they can...that old survival instinct kickin' in.

"As a kid growing up in Louisiana, Peyton Manning always dreamed of throwing a game clinching touch down pass for the Saints in the Superbowl. Glad to see Tracey Porter was available to make that dream a reality! WHO DAT!"
In other news, I'm home sick with a really really lousy cough. *sigh*

Unfortunately, seems someone at the Saints organization had the foresight to register the "Who Dat" phrase in the name of the organization. Doesn't matter where it comes from -- all that matters is who did the paperwork.
